Join me in reflecting on the idea that many cognitive mindsets and skills cannot be taught within the confines of properly structured and well-defined modules and templates. However, many are indirectly caught in places like schools, universities, workplaces, families, churches and of course some very ordinary places like supermarkets, and recreation parks. Life has a way of ‘dragging us out of our comfort zones’, of catching up with us, of forcing us to grow up, of making us ‘wise up’. It is at these times that we unwittingly learn many of these necessary life skills.
So, embrace the mantra of lifelong learning. Open your heart and mind to a variety of experiences. These present a myriad of opportunities to learn and grow. With these, one or more essential life skills would be ‘indirectly caught’ in the school of life. Consider these prompts to help you pack your learning portfolio:
Into which compartment of your learning portfolio will these essential mindsets and skills go?

"Powerful, impactful little book. Don’t underestimate it because of its size. If you internalize the message on each page it can make you change your behaviour. Great for youth groups and classes, schools etc."
