Let’s face it! Parenting is an extremely difficulty job.

Here are 5 simple strategies that can make your job easier and more rewarding.

1. Create a warm and friendly atmosphere in the home.  Remember, a home is where a child should hang his clothes, not his head.
2. Discipline yourself to have a listening ear and a feeling heart.  Make your child feel important and that he/she matters as a member of the family and as such, he has a right to be heard.
3. When your child fails in an area (as most likely will happen), get him to understand that although he failed that time, he is in no way a failure. Identify other areas in which he has been a success and celebrate these.
4. Make it a daily practice to say something encouraging and complimentary to your child.  Begin now, to compile a list of what some of those often overlooked things might be.
5. Fulfill your child’s need for attention and recognition by spending some quality time with him/her.

Although parenting requires huge investments of time, love and attention, it will produce huge dividends if done right.
